Air Suspension Management

Let's take a moment and talk about air suspension management. Here at Switch Suspension, airbags and airbag suspension are kind of our thing. But how does air suspension management fit into the whole system and what exactly does it mean? Let's get into it and figure it out together.

Air suspension management is something of a catch-all term. There are a lot of things that fit into this category, but basically it involves anything that you need to manage your air suspension system, whether it's getting the air from one place to another, connecting components, or just seeing how everything fits together.

Fittings qualify as air suspension management. We sell a ton of different fittings here, mainly because there are thousands of use cases depending on your build. There are hose-to-hose fittings, tees, unions, and a bunch of other ones. Basically, if you need fittings to put together your air management setup, this is the place to go. And for the record, if you're building an airbag setup, you're going to need fittings. Whether it's going from your tank to your bags or from a valve body to a tank, you'll need some way to connect the two, and that usually involves fittings.

Valves also qualify as air suspension management. In this case, the valve is what delivers the air from the tank to the airbags, and then releases the air back into the atmosphere. Now there are a lot of different types of valves. You've got manual valves, which don't require any type of electric connection to work. Just connect your air lines and you're good to go. Or you've got electric valves, which use a switch to trigger a valve to open, allowing you to move the air. And finally, there are valve manifolds. These have all the valves you need in one body, which is typically 8, although you can get 2- and 4-valve manifolds as well. A manifold is more compact than individual valves, uses less fittings and looks cleaner, too.

Air compressors are definitely part of the air management equation. We have tons of different models available, including popular ones from Viair. These compress the air and put it into your air tank, giving you a supply to feed your valves and, in turn, your airbags. You can run 1, 2, 3 or however many compressors you like, but we often sell them in pairs.

Air tanks go in the air suspension management field as well. You'll need at least one tank for your setup, as you need some way to store the compressed air that comes from your compressor(s). We have basic ones and really fancy ones, so whatever floats your boat, we've got it covered.

We also put miscellaneous things in the air management category as well. Compressor wiring fits, as it's necessary for your compressor. Pressure switches and relays are also important. Without a pressure switch, you'll have no idea when your compressor needs to turn on or off. Air gauges, although not as popular as they used to be, are also air management. They're used to display how much air is in your tank and/or airbags. They're great for manual setups or just for people who want to know how things are functioning at all times.

Basically, we have a ton of air management stuff in stock and ready to go. If you need help figuring out what works best for your scenario, call, email or just stop by the shop sometime. We have a bunch of people ready to help, and they all know their stuff.

Here's to you for building your new airbag setup, and we can't wait to help you out along the way.
