Brand Spotlight: CPP

When it comes to getting parts for our trucks, particularly brakes, we often turn to Classic Performance Products, aka CPP. Why? well there are a ton of reasons frankly, so let’s dive into it with this week’s Brand Spotlight: CPP.

Full stop.

One of the things we run into all the time is the brakes on our older trucks and cars. Many of them have drums, which are OK, but most of the time we want something more modern like a disc. It used to be that you couldn’t find a disc brake conversion for the front of your vehicle to save your life, and forget about the back. But CPP has changed all that. Plus, the price isn’t so high that it’ll kill your wallet.

Here’s a good example: This kit for a Chevrolet Bel-Air 1955–1957 CPP 12“ Front Disc Brake Conversion W/ 2” Drop Spindles. This gives you 12-inch drilled and slotted rotors, the option for CPP or Wilwood two-piston calipers, and a 5X4.75" bolt pattern. And still, with all that stuff you’re still paying under a grand.

But let’s say you want to go with a bigger setup. This is a GMC C–10 1963–1987 CPP 13" Front Big Brake Kit W/ Modular X–10 Spindles. You can go five or six lug, and even pick out the color of your calipers. But what’s really cool are those X–10 spindles. Those alone gives you a 2.5-inch drop, and now you get a true hub instead of having to pack your own bearings. Plus the kit comes with tie rod ends, ball joints, and a whole mess of other stuff. It’s a nice setup.

Not just the brakes.

Need a steering linkage kit? Well of you have an OBS 1988–1998 fullsize truck and need the whole thing, we’ve got it. They have full kits for all sorts of vehicles, and that’s awesome when it comes time for you to rebuild your front end.

They also build some amazing performance suspensions. This Chevrolet Chevelle 1964–1967 CPP Stage 3 Pro Touring Suspension Kit lets you pick your front coil spring rate, the diameter of your front sway bar, and how high you want your rear suspension to sit — stock, a two-inch drop or coilover conversion.

There’s more.

And that’s not all. They have so many good parts in their catalog that it’s hard to single out just one or two. From steering boxes to brake boosters and all in between, if you need parts for your classic ride, check out CPP. Believe us, you won’t regret it.
