Brand Spotlight: IHC Suspension

We’ve dealt with a lot of suspension companies over the years, and when it comes to high quality stuff, one of our favorites is IHC Suspension. They’re a relatively new company — founded in 2019 — but they make their kits in the USA, and that counts for a lot in our book. Plus, they’re people who get what makes lowered trucks cool, and we appreciate that.

Let’s dive into the details on this week’s Brand Spotlight: IHC Suspension.

A different angle.

One of our favorite models of truck is the OBS Chevy built from 1988–1998. If you were to ask the average builder what they would get to lower the truck with a 4/6, they would start with the spindles, then go off on a list of other miscellaneous parts. It’s what people do, right?

IHC’s setup — Chevrolet C1500 2wd 1988–1998 IHC Suspension 3–4“ / 6” Lowering Kit — doesn’t use spindles. Instead it has angle corrected upper and lower control arms that also feature a narrowed track width. This allows owners to get more fender clearance, and since some spindles tend to push out your track width, this kit offers a real advantage.

Give your truck a hand.

If you’ve ever towed something behind your truck or tried to put a bunch of heavy stuff in the bed, you know that there are times when you need a little bit more load carrying capacity. The solution is an air bag helper kit, and IHC makes a few different models of their own.

For example, check out this GM 1500 Truck 2007–2018 IHC Rear Air Bag Helper Kit. It works on both two- and four-wheel drive GM trucks and it comes with Firestone 9000 bags, brackets, air line and the fittings you’ll need to get it going. It’s also made specifically for lowered trucks, but it doesn’t require a notch. That’s a pretty nice kit to have, because if your truck has a 4/6 on it, helper bags are definitely handy.

Putting it all together.

Let’s say you like the idea of lowering your truck and you also want those helper bags. Does anyone make one kit that does all of that? Yup. And you’ll never guess who it is.

This is the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2019–2025 IHC Suspension 3/5 Lowering Kit W/ Helper Bags setup from IHC, and it’s like they put together all the good stuff in one clean package. You’ve got your new control arms, the fittings you need, and all the other miscellaneous components that some companies don’t include. It’s all right here, meaning you can take your truck from stock to super capable in relatively short order.

Any business with a beard is good by us.

We’ve been fans of IHC Suspension since we started diving into their products a few years back. They make good stuff, and if we’re fans, then you probably should be, too. Check them out for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.
