Brand Spotlight: McGaughys

We’re starting a new series here at the Switch Suspension blog, and it’s all about the brands that we work with all the time. These are companies that, just like us, love custom cars and trucks, and we want to shine a light on their great accomplishments.

With that in mind, let’s start with one of our first vendors ever: McGaughys.

McGaughys breaks the mold.

Back in the early 2000s, McGaughys was one of the first companies to come out with a dropped spindle for 1999–2006 GM 1/2-ton pickups. As a result, they were highly sought after by custom truck folks like ourselves who wanted to put our NBS trucks a little bit closer to the ground. But they didn’t stop with just one Chevy. Instead, McGaughys kept going, expanding their line to different makes, models and years, plus adding parts like drop coil springs. Soon they had a whole ton of options to choose from, which was great for the whole community.

They also stepped into new categories, too. Today there are a ton of different McGaughys lift kits, and they’re some of the nicer models out there. A few of them are simple and just take you up a few inches, or you can run one of their mammoth setups that raise your truck a foot. For example, we offer a ’11-’19 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD McGaughys SS Lift Kit that gives you up to 12 inches of lift. That’s pretty impressive in anyone’s book.

McGaughys keeps on growing.

We’ve seen McGaughys add to their product catalog a lot over the years. For example, now you can get McGaughys brake rotors, like this 13-inch model for GM cars. Does your 2019–2025 Chevrolet Silverado need new rear shocks for your 7- to 9-inch lift? McGaughys makes those, too. They even have parts like these shock reservoir mounts for 2013–2025 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 trucks. Basically, if it bolts onto your suspension in one way or another, they probably have a part for it.

Now none of this would mean anything if the resulting products were garbage. Fortunately, that’s very much not the case here. They build all of their parts themselves, right here in the USA. They’ve won awards from SEMA and General Motors, and are always pushing the limits to give us cool products. Really, there’s not a lot more you can ask for from a company like this. It’s why we love using McGaughys stuff so much, and why, if you need something that they offer, we’d likely recommend something from their catalog.

If you’re looking to lift or lower your vehicle, check out McGaughys and what they have to offer. You won’t be disappointed.
