Slam Specialties has been around for a minute now, and we’ve run a lot of their air bags on various project vehicles of our own. But what makes them so special? Why are they one of the top bag manufacturers out there? The answer is part of this week’s Brand Spotlight.
Built tough.
A Slam Specialties air bag is solid. Obviously we don’t mean that in a literal way, but these things are well built. You’ve got a beefy design that, in some models, doesn’t balloon like other bags. They’re usually rated for higher PSI than the competition, and they work really well whether you’re building a hopper or something to cruise around the block.
Take the Slam Specialties RE–7, for example. It’s a 7-inch diameter bag with a 1/2-inch port that’s rated up to 200 psi and replaces a 224c or 2600. We move a ton of these things because they’re reliable, strong, and work in a wide variety of installs. It’s truly quality equipment, and we appreciate that.
All that said, not all Slam Specialties bags are cheap. But if you do want a Slam Specialties product but need to spend a little bit less, you can check out their AU series. This is the AU–6, for example. It’s still a high quality item and performs great, but it costs a little bit less. Not too bad, right?
More than just bags.
Of course, they don’t just make air bags. You can also get things like valve manifolds. This is their 4-corner, 3/8-inch PTC manifold valve, which allows you to control your air bag setup. It’s compact, works great and looks awesome, which ultimately are all of the things you want out of a manifold.
They also sell fabrication parts, just in case you want to build something custom. Check out this Heavy Duty Triangulated 4 Link W/ 1.5" Bars.. It’s a traditional kit that you can adapt to your vehicle and comes with all of the stuff you’ll need to make it happen — well, minus a welder and skills, obviously.
We’re fans.
Not only do we like Slam Specialties products and their style, but we’ve also collaborated with them on various projects. We know what it’s like to work with them directly, and we speak from experience when we say they’re an awesome group of people who know what they’re talking about.
When it comes time for you to pick out a set of bags for your ride, look at Slam Specialties. They make high quality parts, many of them built right here in the USA, and they’ve know what it takes to succeed in this industry. Check them out today.
