Buying your first air suspension setup can be a little bit daunting, particularly if you don’t know what you’re looking at. There are a lot of choices to make. Do you want a digital height adjustment system? What kind of valves do you want? Do you need multiple compressors, tanks or both?
So let’s take a moment and talk to you about some of the different air suspension kits you can get. There are a lot of options, so we’ll try to keep it simple.
Vehicle-Specific Air Suspension Kits
We’re starting here because this is the place where a lot of different folks begin their own air ride journey. You go online, look for your car or truck, and see what kind of air bag setup is available. It’s a natural way to go, so we get it.
These types of kits are made specifically for your year, make and model of vehicle. So if you have a 2014 Mercedes-Benz C63, you’ll find yourself with struts, rear air bags and all the mounting parts you need. A 1967 Mercedes-Benz needs a separate front and rear kit, and you still need to buy the air bags themselves. Every vehicle is different, so every air suspension kit is as well.
Load Leveling Kits
Now you may not want to go full bore with your suspension. Say you’ve got an F–350 and you want to pull some extra weight or carry a bunch more in the bed. You want a rear air bag helper kit, and we’ve got plenty of those, too.
Now this is a place where you can get a load leveling kit that’s also vehicle-specific. It crosses both lines, and therefore if your truck is one that’s listed, you can go that way. If not, we have universal helper kits available, too. Basically, you have options.
Universal Air Suspension Kits
Now let’s say your car or truck doesn’t have a vehicle-specific kit. You need to put together the setup all by yourself. Well, we have kits for those kinds of scenarios, too.
We have a ton of air bag brackets and rear links available, and many of them give you options to essentially build your own kit. Our Fabricator Air Bag Bracket Kit With Hardware kit is pretty popular. It’s got four plates cut for a traditional air bag, and then tubing and threaded rod to cut and weld in place. You can create the exact front or rear cup setup you need with that one, and you just do all the fabrication yourself. It’s just one way to get the air suspension kit you want, your way.
Questions? Just ask.
We get a lot of questions, and that’s fine by us. We want people to get the help they need so they love their air ride setup just like we do. If you have something to ask, hit us up. We’re at the shop all the time, so don’t hesitate to reach out.
